our approach

what is chiropractic?

The purpose of chiropractic care is not the treatment of conditions or disease; rather, it is the restoration of normal body function. Chiropractors do this by working directly with the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, + nerves) via gentle, specific adjustments to the spine. Dr. Bruce Lipton says, “The function of the nervous system is to perceive the environment and coordinate the function of all other cells.” So, what if our bodies are showing signs + symptoms or not functioning optimally?

Dysfunction occurs when the body’s natural ability to adapt is interrupted. What interrupts the communication between brain and body is stress on the nervous system, also known as subluxation. Distress within our nervous system occurs because of three main things:

  • physical traumas (birth, trips/falls, accidents)

  • emotional stress (school, work, relationships)

  • toxic stress (pollutants, poor food choices, drugs)

Good input into the nervous system via spinal adjustments helps the body remove stress, change tension patterns, bring balance to the body, and encourages more adaptable patterns to be made by improving the brain + body communication.

CLA INSiGHT scans

We believe that your health journey is unique and specific to you. Along with getting to know you and your health history, we chose to use advanced technologies that are safe, non-invasive, and painless to get a deeper look into how your nervous system is overall functioning.

The CLA INSiGHT scans include three scans:

Heart Rate Variability

This scan gives us a good, general view of how your body is adapting to stressors. It shows us if you’re more in fight or flight vs. rest + digest, along with how much energy reserves your body has.

Thermal

Our rolling thermal scan takes temperatures along your spine. Similar to skin getting warm around a healing wound, our nerves will have a heat response if there is interference. This measures depth, by showing us if the nerves to organs and glands are optimally functioning.

sEMG

sEMG (surface electromygrophy) shows us how well our neuro-motor system is functioning. It measures energy output within the muscles along the spine. We look at things like total energy output, symmetry, + pattern. This is great in showing us how well your brain is handling your body’s energy.
